Plexus Slim (Updated 2018 Review) – Finally With A Scientific, “Non-Ambassadory” Approach!

[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]Isn’t that a good intro?

That I am NOT an ambassador.

Coz if you search around, all you’ll get is praises, accolades and plexus rainbows!

So today folks, we review the (in)famous “Pink Drink” – Plexus Slim!

Circa 2015 – summer, and just like you…

… I was googling for plexus slim reviews.

Out of nowhere my usually creepy, but suddenly overly friendly neighbor lands at my place.

Don’t ask me how, but looking at that big, weird smile on her face and I knew she was here to sell me something or ask me to do something… maybe a survey? :|

Fortunately, I was already aware of the whole plexus slim saga and when she pitched it to me with all the “benefits”, I already knew I was gonna say no, but still listened just to be polite. [/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

Here’s a gist of how our Plexus conversation went:

[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm box pbn”]Me: Ok Erin, Plexus slim looks great and all, all your results and reviews look great, but tell me, what’s IN plexus slim? The ingredients? What is the precise thing in it that makes people lose weight?

Erin: (somewhat taken aback as probably no one asked her that before) It’s a proprietary blend of 100% natural ingredients.

Me: Ok, but a blend of what? ‘Something’ must be in it right, not just sugar or salt?

Erin: (Uncomfortable laugh at my comment) Well yeah, it has many different natural things (note the unnaturally repeated mention of *natural* from here on!) like natural green coffee beans extract, natural garcinia cambogia, natural stevia and much more.

Me: Ok, I have heard about Garcinia and those coffee beans, but those things were never proven to work in studies and researches, they only spiked in popularity due to that Dr. Oz episode.

Erin: (Now clearly uncomfortable) Umm… yeah… ok… well… you see it’s the blend that works, you know… plus since its all natural there are like no side effects.

Me: Erin, forget side effects, tell me about the main effects. Even if… let’s say, I do end up losing some weight, how long do I have to drink this? Forever?

Poor Erin…

She clearly didn’t know that I was not her normal sell-me-a-dream client.

I look up researches when it comes to my body, and I am
VERY cautious pushing concoctions down my throat just because a profit making company says so. [/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

So let’s review the Plexus Slim today, and let’s slice it up – Science style! ;)

I am going to keep it simple and write in a Q&A format so that you can scan and find for the write answer for any specific question you might have…

Plexus Slim Reviewed With 32 Q&A…

[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

So what’s the plexus slim all about? Most women’s facebook wall is full of almost ‘magical’ plexus slim reviews and results! Is it really that “instant cure” we all dream of?

Plexus slim is a powder you mix with water, a blend of various ingredients (details below) created by Plexus Worldwide. The company is better known for its earning “opportunity” given to its members.

In short, it’s a MLM (multi level marketing), pyramid style selling machine.

You buy the products from their resellers (called “ambassadors” so they feel good!) and they make money when you buy (repeatedly) from them.

No surprise that 50% of Facebook is now riddled with Plexus rainbows! [/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

Now, whether Plexus Slim works or not is the question, we look at it scientifically below. How Does It Work? Scientifically? In Fact, Does It Even Work?

Plexus slim has 3 main ingredients claimed to help you lose weight.

    • Green Coffee Bean Extract
    • Garcinia Cambogia extract
    • Alpha lipoic acid

Of these, the only practically useful ingredient is the Alpha Lipoic acid, an antioxidant created by our body itself, with no external supplementation required.

It “might” be useful if you are actually working out and putting a strain on your body, and in that case it may help you a bit (still unsure as no studies are done).[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

What about green coffee beans? Wasn’t it endorsed by Dr. Oz?

Ahhh Dr. Oz… don’t even get me started on that guy!

Unfortunately for America, Dr. Oz is the biggest quack in the medical world this generation has seen.

Here’s a video of him being “scolded” by a magistrate!

I have written a full detailed blog post on the dubious rise and fall of Green Coffee beans extract, you can go and have a read if you have the time.

Short version:
Nope, there is next to ZERO proof, and very, very sparse evidence that green coffee beans might help you lose weight. In fact, plain old green tea offers MANY more and proven benefits in the long run.[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

What about grape seed extract? Isn’t it good for you?

In the same way all fruits are good for you!

Grape seed extract simply offers all the benefits of grapes, just that since it’s concentrated, it physically packs more punch per serving.

Now, the good thing about them is yes, they are helpful for treating insulin resistance and switching back your insulin receptors, so that’s great news for diabetic people.

But here’s the kicker…

There are literally 10 other things you can do without buying expensive supplements to improve your insulin resistance, for e.g.:

  • Just eat more green veggies.
  • Resistance based workouts. (research)
  • Pickled foods, such as sauerkraut, or pickled ginger also boost insulin sensitivity.
  • Avoid vegetable oils and trans fats.
  • Eat oily fish.

And there are many more ways to do it naturally…[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

What are the ingredients of plexus slim? Is it proven to work?

As seen in previous answers, the 3 main ingredients (others like beet extract or Stevia don’t count towards much) are:

1) Green coffee beans – Dr. Oz endorsed, and it lacks much scientific evidence.

2) Grape seed extract – has concentrated goodness of grapes, but then what fruit isn’t great? So this is just like having a Calcium pill, it’s good, sure, but if you CAN drink milk, eat spinach and/or consume other sources of Calcium, why do you need the pill?

3) Alpha Lipoic acid – an antioxidant made naturally in our body. This is actually the more useful of the three, and has been proven useful in Type 2 diabetes, and helps with neuropathy. But then, the question is why should you buy the Plexus Slim + Accelerator for $115/month, when you can simply have the antioxidant for less than $12 over here at Amazon. And that Amazon supply will last you 2 months![/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

So then, if the ingredients are not proven to work for weight loss, how has it really worked for people? Or has it?

Just like most weight loss ‘magic’ products, Plexus slim has its share of “before after” photos. While I won’t go in the authenticity of the photos themselves (remember the whole Justin Beiber photoshop thing), there’s no doubt that the only great results are claimed by those reselling the product.

There are very few genuinely successful cases, and most of them also adhered to a good diet and workout regime, so it’s very difficult to say what really caused the fat loss.

In my experience, if 9 out of 10 of us stuck to a good diet + exercise regime, you don’t need these extracts or supplements in the first place.

So here’s the first time I say this:

There is NO magic fat loss cure.

None. Zero. No matter how enticing they make it sound.

And you’ll see me repeat that several times henceforth…[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

What if it does not work for me?

They have a 60 days guarantee, and I assume they should hold true to it since they are quite a big company.

But surprisingly, they do have issues with the product itself, as well as their return guarantee.

I searched all over the web for genuine reports, and finally found this on the BBB’s website:

bbb plexus slim

Although they have 10 positive reviews, the almost double, 19 negative reviews don’t speak that much about the company.

Here’s a screenshot of some of the reviews…

And here’s the overall customer recommendation for Plexus Slim…

plexus-slim-user-recomendation[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

What is the price? Are there any bait-n-switch re-billing issues?

Plexus slim with the Accelerator will push you back by $115 every month.

That’s a big commitment every month.

And the most frustrating part for me personally was when I wasn’t losing any weight, suddenly my ambassador started covering it up!

She was like, ”Oh, you have to look at it more from a ‘health’ point of view and not just weight loss”…

And I was like…

“Hello, you never even said the word ‘health when you were selling it to me, you were all like ‘Drink pink and shrink’!

Well, the only thing that shrunk was my account balance!

And yes, there’s a weird bait and switch issue.

My cousin’s wife had become an ambassador 2 years ago, and immediately wanted to cancel seeing the real ugly side of the company, guess what, she’s still being charged the $34/year fee even post two years from her leaving them!

So, they make it extremely simple and easy to sign up, not so much when you wanna quit.

Anyway, what this only means is be very, very careful when you decide to “auto ship”, it might become very difficult to cancel the whole thing later.[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

Will it work for me without exercising? I can’t (for whatever reasons) exercise.

This has become a personal joke for me now.

I see at least 3 adverts every day with new shakes, pills or other magic aids that promise weight and fat loss by “doing nothing but gulping our product”

Seriously folks?

Just give it a minute to sink in.

If you use even 1% of your brain, you will realize that no matter what ANYONE says, you will ONLY EVER lose weight is when there’s a deficit in your energy consumption.

Simple meaning – when you spend more energy (being active) than you acquire (food), your body is automatically forced to use the energy resources that are available… aka, your fat stores.

The best part is that with exercise, your body is forced to use up fat stores, else it loves to deflate your muscles first, making you look horribly weak and “skinny-fat”!

Now, you can “consume less energy” by controlling your nutrition, aka, your diet…

Or you can “expend more energy” by being very active and maybe incorporating a regular activity or workout in your weekly routine (exercise, swimming, running, sports, etc.)

There’s NO THIRD SOLUTION with which you can change this equation.

Anyone promising otherwise is simply selling you snake oil.

And what makes us buy their shiny oil is our desperation. We have tried it all, haven’t we? Nothing works, right?

Well… wrong, more later.[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

I am not too obese, will this work?

You want the short answer? Good.

No, it won’t.

The only thing that will make you fitter, lose that flab and get a good body shape with decent muscle tone is lifting some weights, or indulging in some sports and eating correctly. Period.

Yes, it doesn’t matter if you’re extremely obese. You can start with the smallest of weights, or simple bodyweight workouts. All that stands in your way… excuses. [/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

I have problems with cravings, will plexus slim help with that?

Even if it did, curing your food cravings would have still been an ok claim, but these guys are seriously creating false hope in extremely serious healthy conditions.

Apparently, Plexus Slim can cure almost any disease on Earth. I have heard of ambassadors saying Plexus can *cure* diabetes, hypertension, and… (shudders)… even ADHD!

Seriously folks? Plexus slim can *cure* attention deficit hyperactivity disorder?

With what… (big eyes)… … green coffee beans and grape seed extract!??

Well, I think you can clearly guess the answer.
[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

I am extremely obese, will this work for me?

Sigh… I have to repeat here…

No, it won’t.

The only thing that will make you fitter, lose that flab and get a good muscle tone is lifting some weights, or indulging in some sports and eating correctly. Period. Seriously. [/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

I travel a lot, seldom cook at home, will this work for me?

Can’t believe I have to say this the THIRD time now…

The only thing that will make you fitter, lose that flab and get a good muscle tone is lifting some weights, or indulging in some sports and eating correctly.

If you travel a lot, you can still do body weight exercises anywhere. And you CAN find and eat healthy, nutritious foods at 8 out of 10 places in the country or any other decent country. [/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

Will this work post pregnancy? Can I also use during my pregnancy?

You should talk to your Doctor before you gulp and ingest any man made thingies in your body, and more so if you are breast feeding (which I hope you are!)…

But my honest take, don’t experiment. Your baby is much, MUCH too precious. [/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

I have tried weight watchers, nutrisystem’s meal delivery, some shady pills and many other things, nothing works on me, would Plexus Slim work for me?

It won’t, and that’s the beauty of this whole industry!

ALL the things you said you tried… what were they?

Monthly memberships, right? Some form of monthly billing/continuation?

That’s how these companies enter the “top 500” in the INC biggest, fastest growing companies list!

Oh yes, Plexus is in the top 500 (at 132) fastest growing companies
according to INC , not surprising when *each * of their customer has to shell out * at least* over a hundred bucks every single month.

So to answer this question, no, it won’t work for you, and to be honest, Weight Watchers or even Nutrisystem are much less evil.

Coz at least their solutions are based around logical things and not some fruit juices and seed extracts from a tree located 20000 miles somewhere in Africa![/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

How fast will I lose weight?

No one can tell you that. And those who try to, how do they? How can they?

Your body chemistry, physical history, genetics, metabolism, weight, EVERYTHING about you is unique.

How can, especially an “indoctrinated ambassador”, tell you how fast you’ll lose weight with some seed extracts and fruits?

So forget “how fast you’ll lose weight”, the real question is – how long are you going to let them take your money every month?[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

FINAL QUESTION: Should I buy this? Is it going to work? Is it worth it?

It’s 2018. Science has progressed to the point that we can even map obesity to our genes.

And in this day and age, the decision to buy a dubious concoction of stuff that’s not even studied is totally up to you, but statistically it’s not going to work.

The minimum amount of women who did see changes in their bodies were ALSO eating the right diet and indulging in some activity or workout… so… why not do THAT with dedication first!? It’s free! :)

[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

So here’s how you CAN and SHOULD lose weight naturally, without monthly subs, in 3 steps:

  1. Find a nutrition plan (not a diet) that does NOT have you counting calories. When you *have* to that, count calories, you are sure to fail. Instead find a nutrition plan that does not have you counting calories or portions. So yes, weight watchers, atkins, and all their siblings are out.
  2. Plan to expend more energy, more calories, with some/any activity, literally anything that’ll get your blood pumping. That can be anything you love, sports, running, jogging, literally hundreds of things. There’s bound to be ONE you might like.
  3. Finally, use supplements or shakes only when necessary. They are exactly that, “supplements”, to supplement what you are already doing. For e.g. the best supplement, without any doubt, that you can have is whey protein. The benefits outweigh the cost 10 to 1!

So instead of spending 100+ bucks on this plexus slim concoction, spend it on this 10 pounder bag !

Not only will that big bag benefit you 10 times more, it will last for months![/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]

… and how I lost my weight without Plexus slim or other ‘aids’…

[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtm”]Here’s what I did last year that changed my life. Literally.

And with no plexus slim or other gook.

Plexus Slim User Reviews:

Although I found like bazillion plexus slim reviews on Facebook, there are very few genuine ones by individual people or bloggers.

I found this plexus slim review by Betty Hartley which actually led me to buy her nutrition program, and which eventually led me to lose 28 pounds last year.

Then I found a lot of complaints on BBB’s site, here’s a screenshot of few:

And there were also quite some disturbing reports on, check what this one out:

When the product was not working for me or my customers, I asked for advice on what to do, but was met with indecisive avoidance. “Oh, well, I don’t have that happen, wow”, etc. Never could get a straight answer.

Then it was all about “health” and weight loss was a bonus. That’s NOT how it was presented to me thus I was gravely mislead. The product CHANGED and the leaders knew it wasn’t working, but continued “cheerleading” their teams and the massive “cover up” began.

Here was one more plexus slim review, specifically about their return policy:

I got the product back about Nov 20th and I had a chance to take it a few time just recently and it really upsets my stomach so I called them to return the product and was told I only had like five days and that time has passed but then again when you buy the product you are told you have a 90 day return policy?

And to get anyone on the phone was a hassle I was transferred to 7 different departments and talk to 7 different people and still not resolve I will make sure to tell everyone I know how I was treated and that product upset my stomach and I did not care for the taste either it tasted like I was drinking a bottle of splenda YUCK!!!!

And this, below, was the most “animated” plexus review so far….

People are NOT experiencing amazing results! Out of at least 100 customers from me and my team, it worked for NONE of them.

It is advertised to “lose more weight faster than you ever thought possible”. It simply does not happen I don’t care WHAT they tell you!

In addition, with a few of their other products there are claims to “help” or “may help” diseases such such as infertility, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD in children, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, and even cancer to name a few.

Can you say “deceptive”? How do these people sleep at night????

I have no idea how they stay in business. This product is a waste of time and money! It does NOT work, period.

And finally, the nail in the coffin was hit by the good o’l FDA themselves!

Plexus worldwide received a warning letter for making unreasonable claims on their Fast Relief, Pro Bio 5 and Bio Cleanse products:

Here’s a small gist of the warning… (addressed to Plexus worldwide)…

Your Fast Relief, ProBio5 and BioCleanse are not generally recognized as safe and effective for the above referenced uses and, therefore, the products are “new drugs” under section 201(p) of the Act [21 U.S.C. § 321(p)]. New drugs may not be legally introduced or delivered for introduction into interstate commerce without prior approval from FDA, as described in section 505(a) of the Act [21 U.S.C. § 355(a)]; see also section 301(d) of the Act [21 U.S.C. § 331(d)]. The FDA approves a new drug on the basis of scientific data submitted by a drug sponsor to demonstrate that the drug is safe and effective.

So those folks, are the REAL Plexus Slim reviews and experience by real users!

I don’t care what those ambassadors claim, ultimately it comes down to 3 things:

1) How long do you plan to spend over $115 every month?

2) Is this a long term fix? Is it safe to be taken for the next 1, 5, or 10 years?

3) There are countless concoctions out there with the same ingredients, IF they all really work, would obesity still be a problem in this country?[/cs_text][cs_text class=”mtl”]FURTHER READING:

I lost 30 pounds of visceral fat in 4 weeks. Plexus Slim reduces the amount of sugar you feel the need to consume, and replaces it with energy. Who wouldn’t want that. It would make more sense if you had actually tried it and it didn’t work; but you hadn’t. Of course, with any weight reducing supplement, you don’t lose weight unless you stop eating bad things. This wasn’t approved by the FDA because it is a healthy substance.

  2. Susan

Thanks for debunking this! I was in 2 minds whether to go for the “pink drink”, but your review cleared it up for me!

Can’t believe people are tripping over themselves to buy a concoction of herbs!

I guess as long as you sell dreams, people will buy it!

  3. Jane

Thank you for this detailed review. My young neighbor is selling this stuff, and I’m afraid she’s being duped.

  4. Cam

I like to read people blogs on weight loss products to see if they have tried it and or scientific reviews to learn more because I am just a tad overweight & my bf is a protein loving gym addict, which I believe works 100 times better but I have many friends trying to sell/promote these products.

This is the only article/blog that gives the truth!

Dr. Oz… Sheesh no way haha I don’t even have anything to say about that.

But thank you for giving your opinion… Which is truly the only thing that’ll work. Some of these things/products just have caffeine… Which is also easily obtainable without paying that amount of money. But overall just wanted to say thanks and hope that more people read this

  5. Bonny

I lost 30 pounds of visceral fat in 4 weeks.
No, you did not. If you did, can you tell us where your planet lies? We’d like to order some kryptonite please…

Plexus Slim reduces the amount of sugar you feel the need to consume, and replaces it with energy. Who wouldn’t want that.
I had to get up and go outside to stop laughing! You reduce the urge to consume excess sugar by eating REAL FOODS, not by depending on a pink concoction!

Of course, with any weight reducing supplement, you don’t lose weight unless you stop eating bad things.
Ummm… why not then… do that in the first place!??

I liked reading the article, I think it helps people make a more informed decision and know what they might be getting into, but I have a type 2 diabetic friend that woke up to blood sugar levels between 130 and 180 and she started taking plexus and did not change her diet at all or meds and she wakes up to her blood sugar level being 80. Her story is not an anomaly either.

I talked to another friend who was bedbound with rheumatoid arthritis pain so bad and a ton of other diagnoses with doctors making mistakes and she got on plexus in a desperate situation and has literally seen her pain diminish and go away to where she can get out of her house now.

I am still a skeptic and figuring it out, but the personal stories I’ve seen cannot be denied.

How do you address these kinds of personal, true stories? You don’t. Your data is lacking, if you truly had no bias you would show the double blind studies where the candidates lost a ton more weight in 8 wks than the placebo. Not everyone can get out of bed and workout without serious pain or chomp on veggies and meal prep like you, some are really desperate.

Be prepared to be held accountable for people who could have really benefited from Plexus that aren’t just like you.

    1. Liz

Agree, it really helps ppl who are in bad shape but if your only a little overweight its not needed.

I believe those who sign up to sell need to make sure they know more about the products first though. Someone young without researching much should not be selling. The slim was developed for diabetics to help with sugar cravings and blood sugar levels. Losing weight is just a happy side effect.

From what I understand the other products are probiotics and such to promote health and help with infections. If you don’t need a boost, just eat better. If you need help getting on track to a healthier you these should be to help but not permanent, work on diet and you will be good.

  7. Cathy

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this! Spot on!
A few years ago I was approached by a friend about trying this product. I was hesitant, but decided to give it a try. After 1 month I did see about a 7 lb weight loss…but like you said, I’m pretty sure I was just paying more attention to what I was eating.

At that time I decided to sign up to be an Ambassador, I mean…wouldn’t you “want to earn your products for FREE!”? I’m not good at pushing products. Period.

So, I was just ‘working’ for the discount. But once I hit month 2, I realized that the product was doing absolutely nothing for me. I was wasting my own money and trying to get my friends/family to waste their money on it too. I quit.

My friend is still selling to this day. She’s got her family and tons of friends on the bandwagon. She has her before/after pictures showing amazing results, but what she fails to tell everyone is how she totally changed her diet and became a kickboxing junky all while spending over $300 a month on her and her families products.

As soon as you speak a word about how the products do not work you are hit with all sorts of excuses “you haven’t given it enough time”, “this just shows how much candida you have in your body”, “You’re getting healthy from the inside out, this isn’t a quick fix!”

All MLM companies are scams. Plan and simple. Plexus is no different. You can get much better, cheaper products to meet your needs at your local vitamin shop.

  8. Peggie

Thank you for this blog. I found it very informative since my daughter-in-law sells these products and has been trying to get me to start them too. I’ve lost weight by using the South Beach Diet twice…once in my 50’s with great success and now in my 60’s with some success. The issues happen after stopping the SBD and going back to old habits and regaining the lost weight. PORTION control and exercise are the ONLY answers…not Pink snake oil. My daughter-in-law insists this stuff really works for EVERYTHING. To me, it’s just a waste of money every month and I have no intention of throwing my SS dollars away.

  9. Bonny

All that talk, and yet I don’t see the source of your so called “double blind study”. Give it to me, and I’ll publish it here. But… I am thinking I won’t see you again here, right?

  10. Jade

Pink junk don’t work. And I know a ambassador whom shows before and after pictures of her weight lost, she lost this weight before she ever tried this junk. She just making money off the poor soles buying this crap. Claiming plexus did it for her. This is frad.

  11. Namey

Ok, so I became an “ambassador” for Plexus in April of 2017.

The “new ” Plexus Slim came out soon thereafter and is now in place of the original one. Kept hearing “stay positive”, “don’t be a quitter”, “it is all about gut health”, “it is not a quick fix”, be consistent”, “wait and see just how much better you will feel in about a month or two”.

Ummm, NOPE!!! NOBODY that is a PLEXUS AMBASSADOR wants to EVER hear ANYTHING that is negative about the company or the products!!! Isn’t that the very definition of being biased? I had started back working out at the gym in November of 2016. This was my first time back in 10 years.

I was fine doing the workouts. I did them consistently. My diet? Still not as healthy as it should have been – nor is it now.

Then, as is now, I still have cravings for many unhealthy consumables. Really wanted this to be the thing that helped me to be the best that I can be. Just not so. Cannot tell anyone above me my true feelings on this (because they constantly debunk any negative feedback).

My only income is SS, so I have to budget for everything. This is a large chunk of money coming out every month.

How much longer should I wait, if at all? And at this point, (past 60 days) should I even bother trying to get any monies refunded? (especially after reading the problems others have had with it)

    1. SuckerNoMore

Namey, for sure go onto your Ambassador site and cancel your recurring subscription and the annual fee subscription. I’m in month 2 of products and did just that. My “upline” ambassadors are pushing me hard to sell (“share”) and clog my FB with Plexus ads. Too much, too fake. I have a cousin going hard into the biz. Can’t help but think she’s being duped. The incentive to be an ambassador is to get your product paid for by someone else…Likely family and friends that will end up resenting you for getting them in on the scam to begin with. Found a drink on Amazon and at Costco that is full of vitamins and better stuff than Slim. Called EcoDrink. Going to try that for supplementation instead of non-proven, potentially dangerous pills and powder from this company.

  12. Shirley A Sansom

Thank you for your time and this information .

I actually have the Plexus page open and was considering it. The only people I hear positive results from are the ambassadors. I’ve seen several ambassadors in our community but they do not look any different (they claim they feel better) I hate pyramid companies.

You have saved me several hundred dollars. Thank you!!!

I posted on FB a questions. I WANT HONEST REPLIES FROM PLEXUS USERS NOT SELLERS. DID THE PRODUCT HELP YOU? all the positive comments are from people that have family members that sell and trying to hook me up and the others were negative comments . I feel better already!!

  13. Shana

I have to agree with a previous poster… I would have loved to read your review if you had actually tryied the products to see for yourself if they work or not.

I have been taking the TriPlex (the new slim, ProBio 5, and BioCleanse), along with the new VitalBiome for about a month and I feel amazing. I’m down two sizes and my mental health has improved. Could I have changed that on my own? Possibly, but I’ve struggled with it for nearly 25 years and I was at a point where I felt I had “tried it all.” You mention the carb cravings, I honestly craved sweets all hours of the day but since starting Plexus, I don’t anymore. I’m no doctor so I don’t know why that is, but it’s working for me.

I’m a lot like you, I do a crazy ton of research before I jump into anything, I read positive reviews, I read critical reviews, I talked to friends who had done it and quit, and ones who were still doing it. The majority of the critical reviews were ones who hadn’t ever tried it… how can you give an honest review without trying it?

I’m not claiming that Plexus is a miracle, but it’s working for me and I’m very thankful for that.

    1. CL

You’re an Ambassador? Correct? Please do not make phoney claims regarding Plexus improving your mental health! That is a very dangerous statement to make as it is a false claim and could cause someone to go off their legally prescribed antidepressants and harm themselves or worse commit suicide! Shame on you!

  14. Emily

Thanks for this review! I was never on the fence about Plexus, always had an assumption that it was weird.

But I wanted to give it a fair shot and at least look up some reviews before putting my foot down. I have SO MANY Facebook friends on this and Rodan+Fields now!! And, at the risk of sounding ignorant, every single one is a white, 20 or 30 something, middle class, stay at home mom/college student, female. Every. single. one. Yes, my social demographic of friends are exactly that, so my observation may be wildly misleading.

And I understand if someone thinks it’s rude to point out.

But I can’t get over the fact that EVERY one meets that criteria. I’ll stick to eating REAL food while getting REAL nutrients…!!!

  15. Jessie

I took the plexus slim when it first came out about 3 or 4 years ago and lost weight. Then the ingredients changed, and when I reordered I did not lose anymore weight. I know there was a rumor that the original plexus was taken off the market because people were testing positive for drugs. Can someone help with this answer? Did the orginal ingredients change?

    1. Skinny Bonny

Yes, I think they had to change the ingredients due to some dangerous side-effects of the earlier version.

      1. Jay

You “THINK”…keyword..think..means you have no idea of what you are talking about..Giving your opinion on something you do not know anything about…offering people false information.

        1. Skinny Bonny

I “THINK” they had to change BECAUSE of… the keyword is BECAUSE.

If you remove ‘I think’, the meaning still stays the same!

The point I am making is the “CHANGE” they had to make BECAUSE of the side effects. It does not matter whether they had to make the change because of something I “THINK” or not, they HAD to, that’s the point.

So, Mr. Ambassador, I apologize that my review will probably cost you couple of them suckers, but the truth will prevail.

This unbelievably overpriced, unverified by any studies concoction ain’t helping 99% people out there. Period.

  16. Jbee

I actually had a very eye opening conversation with a lady who did at home customer service for Plexus. She said she would never take their products because she has people calling in panicking from withdrawals because they ran out and products were on back order.

Seems like Plexus may be more addictive and habit forming than beneficial for health. Plus, Plexus ambassadors don’t want to hear anything negative because that would hurt their bottom line, which is making money.

All honesty takes a back seat and has to when you need the money, which is why I’ll never join any of these groups.

Even pharmaceutical companies are more honest by stating on their ads that their products do not work for everyone. Also, we’re seeing many Facebook groups banning ads from Plexus and other MLMs. People are sick and tired of this crap pushed in their faces. I cringe every time a “friend” from fifth grade gets back into contact with me after 30 years of nothing and wants to sell me something (another MLM).

I’ve had closer friends want to meet me for coffee pushing $500 a MONTH vitamins? I didn’t think it was possible for her to be duped into such a scam. You could clear out a Walmart aisle of vitamins for that price! Stay far, far away from these schemes. Thanks for this only true review of the scam!!

  17. Lisa

Are any of the ingredients addictive? It seems like the posts I see always say how great they feel and how this and that has been cured…until they skip it one day – then they feel terrible again – that sounds like straight up addiction to me.

    1. Skinny Bonny

Sadly, though they don’t say it (never will) out loud, MANY people have reported withdrawal symptoms.

      1. Tammy Pearson

Yes! I only took it 26 days, and I’m having a terrible time with withdrawal. I’m searching for help with those symptoms. The headaches, vaginal bleeding, and cramps have stopped. I’m struggling with digestive track issues which I didn’t have before taking Plexus Slim. The nausea is horrible. If anyone knows anything that would help balance my digestive system, I would appreciate the advice.

  18. Monica Gallagher

I appreciate this! Well written and very informative. So many BS new diets cure all going around… Sigh… It is infuriating to those of us who have battled weight and found a way that works! Eat FOOD and EXERCISE.

Simple until you run into problems of knowing what and how. That is when REAL nutritionists (not “Ambassadors” or “coaches”) know how to step in and do real work with people. Work that teaches lifelong healthy habits!

    Thanks for THIS review!

  19. Karen

Just for the record, I tried Plexus Slim for 6 weeks. No weight loss at all, but I did have a serious case of hives. So serious that I ended up on 2 rounds of cortisone. I would have had to continue cortisone had my Dr not seen the pink pack sticking out of my purse and said STOP drinking that and let’s see what happens. Hives were gone in 3 days and haven’t returned. Of course no money was returned to me by my “ambassador” or the company. Shameful in my opinion!

  20. Donna

Hello. I am cutrwntly a plexus ambassador and am trying desperately to cancel my order and quit the company. I have not been able to quit.
    Why do I want to?
I am a type 1 diabetic and have been one the triplex, XFactor plus, and vitalbiome for 6 months. My results….I weighed 139 before plexus. Ate very well, have been gluten free for 3 years and felt fine but I saw other people dropping weight and my hubby was convinced he had more energy (he still falls asleep as soon as he sits down) and he did loose an,amazing amount of weight.
Me… I gained 20 pounds. It did affect my sugar level … it raised it by 30. So I went from an A1c of 150 to 183.
I am also allergic or sensation to something in plexus, my mouth goes numb. I am allergic to shell fish and so much more. Since they don’t tell you how much of whatever is in their proprietory blend it’s a crap shoot on whether I will have a reaction to the stuff I get every month.

I was healthier and felt better before plexus. My before and after pics are disgusting. Yes, I drank half my body weight in pure water but I actually drank more before slim. I havent changed my diet or exercise.
I’m told to wait, it will work. Wait for what? Until I gain 49 pounds?
They say every one is different but think it’s something you are or aren’t doing that makes it not work. No, maybe it’s something yout weren’t doing before and are now that made you loose weight.

End of story. I like the XFactor plus since I can’t take iron and it’s a good vitamin blend. The other..pure crap.
And I absolutely HATE that they say it helps level blood sugars. Hello…maybe a type 2 but there is nothing in the world except insulin that will level a type 1 diabetics sugar. Nothing…you idiots.. change your slogan and do some research on all diabetics.

  21. Donna

Karen if you have only been using plexus for 6 weeks (less than 90 days) you just need to call customer service and tell them you want to return the product. They will tell you to keep the product and refund all your money.
The key here is that only you can call on your behalf. You’re ambassador can’t cancel you. You have to make the call yourself and be prepared to wait forever and possibly be disconnected (oops). But if you persist you will get your money back.

  22. Susan

Bonny, thanks so much for creating this review.

Excellent work and points all true. I, too, had to investigate the Pink Drink hype. Really tickled by the 30 lbs of visceral fat post! Checked a link a young friend/ambassador sent.

Their website is shiny and pretty and makes you feel like a princess waiting to go down the rainbow tunnel to sveltness! Geez! You really educated quite a few folks, not to mention the fact that you saved them money as well.

    Major kudos to you!

  23. Cheryl

I’ve noticed that negative info is generally written by people who have NEVER tried Plexus, and positive info (which far outweighs the negative) is written by people who HAVE. Usually very few people take the time to write positive reviews. Something to think about. Also – nothing works for 100% of people, but this seems to work for many.

    1. Skinny Bonny

On what basis do you conclude that people who write negative reviews have NEVER tried Plexus?

At the same time you say “very few people take the time to write positive reviews”. And THAT doesn’t seem odd to you?

Lastly, how do YOU know “this seems to work for many”? Based on the “positive info which far outweighs the negative” even though you yourself say very few people write positive reviews?

Total contradiction in your comment. If you’re a plexus ambassador, please say so…

  24. SuckerNoMore

They took out the Hoodia. The Accelerator was causing racing hearts and drug-like reactions and there was lead found in one of the supplements, which is why it was banned in Australia and Canada. Must have changed something because it looks like they’re having a Canada launch soon. Supposedly it does great things for people, but hasn’t helped me in 2 mo. so I’m done.

  25. Brittany

I would have agreed with your opinion 2 years ago, until taking plexus changed my life. Many of the claims you stated the ambassadors make, that is the ambassadors fault, not the company’s.
We are trained on what claims we shouldn’t make and it’s made very clear several times throughout. Actually, the training package and education that plexus provides is incredible :).
I saw the annoying plexus posts on FB for about 2 years before I decided to see what it’s all about. And my experience has been great! I’m sorry to hear that others were disappointed.

  26. JoAnn

My daughter and I both tried this for 2 months. Nothing changed for either of us. How people can say best sleep ever, I lost so much weight, cured my diabetes, my stomach issues. If this were true, everyone would be on it. Disappointed. There is never a cure all.

  27. Concerned

Thank you for this review. I never tried the stuff but being in the medical field I feel these ladies could be doing harm to people they care about. So many of my friends are into this fad its scary.

    1. Skinny Bonny

Ditto to that, if only people improved their daily HABITS rather than getting into these wrong habits!

  28. Linda

I have been taking some of the Plexus Products and have had good results. The NERVE product has helped my Neuropathy. I feel less burning pain. I also like the Vitamins too. SLIM is all that is being discussed. I am a Type2 and I have had more controllable Sugars while taking products. So I think everyone needs to weigh the pros and cons and decide for themselves.

  29. BuyerNotSeller

Im doing the same- triplex. I had a few ppl ask me about it and i told them if they are just wanting to lose some weight just work on your diet but if you have health issues to look into it. Ive had digestive issues since i was little and diabetic family.

I have many other health issues and several serious injuries that makes working out difficult. I stopped the pink drink bcuz i believe i dont need it but continuing the cleanse and probio.

It has helped my digestive system so much quicker and better than changing my diet and taking supplements ever has. I feel so much better and i had a lot of yeast overgrowth in my system as well from poor diet when i was younger. Last check up was almost normal readings when tested so next month i will no longer be taking them. As stated before, eat good and excercise your good.

But if your already in bad shape this is good to get you in better shape to help you get where you need to be. Not permanent treatment, more like a booster to get you there so you have the energy to make nonprocessed healthy meals and excise.

  30. Laurie

I have taken the pink drink , Plexus Slim, for two days. Throwing it out as it made me edgy and cranky.

  31. Kendra

I noticed that all the plexus ambassadors post pics and comment how they are not as “swollen” as before plexus. The Grape Seed Extract explains this. It’s main purpose is to reduce inflammation.

My husband has a pancreatic disorder and takes it for that very purpose. It’s about $6 a bottle.

I’m sure it combined with the extra water they drink is why they look less swollen. Sadly, they could do this without spending $115 per month.

  32. Penny

    1. Skinny Bonny

Nor do you have to type everything IN ALL CAPS. No offense, but this “plexus bashing party” started by itself which shows who (or whether) the product really helps (or not).

  33. Danni

My step sister uses and sells this product, marketing it via FB like so many others. I honestly can’t say whether or not it has helped her lose weight because, although she claims she has lost weight, it is hard to notice a difference.

However, this might be because she is significantly overweight and the amount of weight loss she has supposedly achieved (about 25 pounds) might not be readily noticeable. What is readily noticeable is the fact that, when she posts pictures of herself on FB to market this product, she photoshops them to make herself look significantly thinner.

Most of our family doesn’t see her and so think she has lost a lot of weight and think this product is miraculous and buy it. I think it must be clear to her Plexus friends what she’s doing, but nobody says a word which makes me wonder how many others do the same thing.

    It’s plainly deceitful.

  34. Audrey

Thank you. I was approached many times and eventually gave in.

I am three months in; I cannot afford it, I do not want to put this on my friends or loved ones (so I could attempt selling it to strangers- this is no excuse), I haven’t seen results, my ambassador checks in almost daily which stresses me out. The entire experience is an extra stress that I can’t afford or take on.

I’d like to stop but want to give it an honest go. …and I dread the guilt from my ambassador.

It feels like I’m caught in a web; while knowing that I am contributing to this pyramid wealth. I want out.

    1. Skinny Bonny

Simply get out of it Audrey! The ambassador’s have been TRAINED to make you feel guilty! They take advantage of this basic human trait (not being able to say no), and you won’t believe how many women fall for this!

It’s YOUR life and your money. Say STOP before you give thousands to a company who at best, manufacturers unproven concoctions.

  35. GetAClue

Thank you for opening this honest discussion. The people who sell this stuff will not allow anyone to question the products or say one negative word. I have had people delete my comments.

They truly tell people it will cure anything! I’ve got several issues that I would like resolved, but am an active healthy person. It is so tempting to think that all of these things could be dealt with in one fell swoop, but the old saying is true, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!”

There is no way I could spend that kind of money and I would never post about it daily.

I wonder if there will come a day when they find some harm being done. Eat healthy and exercise. Set aside the amount of money you save and take a vacation!

  36. Ashley Peterson

I am a Plexus ambassador because the products make me feel amazing.

I tried the triplex combo for a month before I told a soul about it. I suffer from depression and anxiety and no longer feel the effects of it or need medication for over 2months now using these products. My son has a bunch of weird bumps on his arms and since started taking the xfactor kids vitamins they have cleared up. We had tried prescription creams and even diet changes and they didn’t work for him. And lastly, my grandmother had some serious health issues going on and wasn’t able to have BM for over a week at a time while take Miramax daily.

She was bed ridden and talking about end of life. I had her try my triplex combo and in 3 days she was starting to feel better. She signed up for the monthly triplex subscription and has had regular BM sin e starting the program, is no longer bed ridden, and is becoming active again. And please note she is 75years old, been through massive heart attacks along with being a cancer survivor.

I will never stop taking Plexus due to the health benefits it has provided me and my loved ones.

Plexus has not helped me lose weight because I am not active… when I am able to make time for being active I am sure it will help aide in the weightloss. But we will see.

    1. Skinny Bonny

      I am sorry but…
      I am sorry, what!?

We have already seen Plexus cure EVERYTHING on Facebook, from ADHD to cancer claims!

So seriously, go and rant your unbelievable, idiotic, and literally laughable claims on Zuckerberg’s domain…

P.S. Your kid could have taken generic kiddy vitamins with the same results and saved you a lot of those easily earned $.

  37. Michele

I am a licensed psychotherapist working with trauma, body image, disordered eating and… I not only agree, a “raise you one” that not only are these drinks ridiculous but, the pre-probiotics are also a hard sell and seem great with the sales lingo, but you can eat half a banana for a prebiotic and get this.. your body makes probiotics. Unless you are sick, in which case you can go to a natural store or Amazon and get a probiotic for just a few dollars.. or eat what healthy non-othrexia people do and just eat a few slices of banana with some yogurt (you can do almond yogurt or other vegan varieties as well)…
The entire thing is just crazy.
I’m a big proponent of working with someone who (1) doesn’t use that as their “side hustle” and (2) someone who has devoted training (like a licensed, credentialed nutritionist) to work with.
I feel badly for people who are doing this and are “getting results” because that means they’d also get results – MORE results, from a nice, free glass of water.
Is there a name for a deficiency of green coffee bean? No. Why? Because it’s useless.
I love this blog… new fan here!

    1. Skinny Bonny

      Thanks Michele,

I agree 100%! All the “proprietary” ingredients in Plexus can be bought for 1/4th price if one just uses that search button!

  38. Valerie Sell

I have been on warfarin for years and have also struggled with low platelet counts. I experienced one of my issues that causes me to bleed (and therefore my platelets decrease) and since this issue could be better with “better gut health” I started taking the Plexus tri-Plex…and I might be able to loose a few pounds….BONUS!!!

Well, my hemoglobin started to increase but my platelets were decreasing. I finally looked up every single Ingredient in Plexus slimHC and probio5 (since the biocleanse was “just magnesium”, I thought it was ok.). Anyway, I found in a Plexus review something about thrombocytopenia. (Oh no, I thought). I found “ALA possesses an antiplatelet activity”. Well that made me decide to stop taking the SlimHC.

So, I decided to search for each ingredient in probio5. When I got down to “Serrapeptase”, I found Serrapeptase might decrease blood clotting.

So, I stopped taking both the SlimHC and the probio5. Before I purchased more biocleanse, I looked it up with a friend and saw continuous use could cause issues. So, no Plexus anything for me!!

  39. Brandi S

    1. I use to “sell” this. Term used loosely because I suck at pushing products. I just wanted the discounts.

    2. My heart burn seemed to decreased while I was on this and I slept better- but maybe I just reacted well to an ingredient? But that was it. I gained weight while taking this. I had healthy habits in place already. Was working out regularly for a good year or so already. And was steadily losing weight before starting this crap. I didn’t change my eating habits as those were firmly in place.

This was literally the only change I made. When I quit, i finally went back to slowly losing again. So my weight loss was hard work and good choices. Maybe the weight gain was just a coincidence and same with the other two things. I don’t know…

    3. I stopped because I felt it was all crap. And I could not stand that you were not allowed to say ANYTHING negative about the product. At all. Ever. And even tho the #1 claim to push their product was the Plexus SLIM to help you lose weight, they would say, “but that’s just a great side effect.” Dropping weight is literally your sales pitch all day every day. When companies restrict what you can say and will speak out of both sides of their mouth then

    I’m… I GAINED weight! Lol

  40. Never Again

Take a look at any Ambassador. Do they look thin or young to you? No. Most ambassadors are washed up losers who can’t get hired anywhere else so they join these desperate people. Look at their top earner, Celeste. She looks like some dried up hag who is pushing 50.

Check out how many ambassadors are on disability and “can’t work” yet they can afford $100 a month for overpriced supplements and a failing business.

Take a look at any of their Facebook posts- then look at how many “likes” and comments come from non Plexus people.

They even have a group dedicated to making sure that their posts stay front and center in your newsfeed (called Post Bumpers). In other words, they try to manipulate the Facebook algorithms so that their scam stays front and center on your newsfeed.

Know someone in Plexus who never comments or likes your posts but wishes you a happy birthday? Yup. One more way to stay relevant in your newsfeed

  41. Teresa

This is just another scam. Claims to cure everything. I lost 17 lbs and only had 3 more pounds to go to meet my goal. I did this by eating less calories, eating healthy foods, and stopping sugar. I was approached by someone to try the pink drink.

I told her I wasn’t interested because I only wanted to lose 3 more lbs and didn’t need it. I was told it only makes you lose weight if you need to, otherwise you don’t lose weight on it, it just ‘balances out your body’.

How does the pink drink know whether or not you need to lose weight or not?

Also, read reports of people being cured from depression and anxiety. I’ve had bipolar disorder for 45 years and they also claim you can get off all your meds.

This is very dangerous for people with bipolar to start taking these supplements and go off their meds.

I resisted medication for 34 years and finally hit rock bottom in 2007 and finally got on meds. They have literally saved my life. So sorry, won’t fall for this scam .

    1. Skinny Bonny

      Claims to cure everything

Thanks for chiming in Teresa , I’ve seen MANY Plexus ambassadors claim this too! It’s ridiculous at best…

  42. Jen

I am an ambassador for my husband strictly for the sake of the discount. I do not take the products, my husband does. He does NOT TAKE THIS FOR THE WEIGHT LOSS CLAIMS. He started taking it in Nov 2018 with the ‘pink drink’, probio5 and bio cleanse on the premise that it would help with his allergies.

He has asthma and seasonal allergies that almost always result a biannual sinus infection and biannual steroid shot.

He changed nothing else. Spring allergies came and went. He didn’t require a steroid shot this year and also managed to avoid the sinus infection. He is a farmer and he farms wheat.

The dust from the wheat during harvest is a major player in his allergy game. He is a man of few words but he told me one evening that he actually felt like the plexus was helping his allergies. He didn’t feel like he was nearly as stuffed up and he couldn’t believe he didn’t have to go get his steroid shot this year.

I wanted to post this as a review from someone who is an ambassador but also doesn’t take the product. I am also a nurse and had a horrible time looking up and researching the product to make sure it wouldn’t interfere with his actual medications.

I feel like it is lacking in scientific evidence. I would like to be able to look up the product in a drug guide and be able to see the exact chemical makeup, contraindications, etc just like you can with every medication on the market, but you can’t and I think that’s my biggest hang up with it. I would love to find out what part of it actually helps with his asthma and allergies.

Then I wouldn’t have to pay $$$ for the plexus itself as I am not big into the whole pyramid scheme of it.
